Good bye Halifax - Hello Canada

Team H2V is officialy on the road.

Could not have asked for a better send off from Halifax. The day started from Black Rock Beach in Halifax harbour – the official tire dip, message from the Premier of Nova Scotia and pipers. Thank you to all our supporters and sponsors for joining us for this special send off.

The 5 riders, behind a police escort, lead a peloton of 17 support riders out of Halifax and onto the start of our journey. Thanks you to CycleSmiths out of Halifax for your awesome support. Once we got the CycleSmiths support peloton into place we dialed the speed up and managed a 37 KHM average and covered 107 KM in 3 hours.

Could not have asked for a better riding conditions – sunny and warm.

Thank you to the City of Halifax who was most accommodating and supportive – the Citadel Hotel staff were incredible in accommodating all our requests – Thank you.

After 10 months of planning and putting this event together it is a releif and pleasre to finally be on the road. Have not slept well over the past few nights

Next ride for me is at 11:30 – I will ride from 11:30pm to 1:30 am, and will be entering New Brunswick.

The team is dialed – ready to ride hard - and ready to bring it home.

Tell you friends/family to follow us on line.

A little trouble with the web cam and GPS so far....picture is very bleached out and GPS doesn't come up. My tech guy thinks it's a problem with a link in your web site.

Best wishes to all of you...you rock!

I ran out of work this morning to see you go by my work across from Clearwater on the Bedford Highway. I have challanged all my friends in Montreal to watch the GPS and try to spot you on the way through. Great work guys! We'll be watching and placing "bets" to see who can spot you across the country. We'll be donating all proceeds to your great cause.

If you link thru the avove address, for some reason you can see the gps location properly.

Thanks Chris,
That brought up the GPS but it is centered in Vancouver and when you scroll over to Halifax the little blue H2V doesn't appear although the Google tear drops do. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the ride out of Halifax.
I was able to keep up with you guys
for the first 40k at an average of 30k/hr but the pelaton was too fast after Fall River for a 52 year old " weekend warrior ". I see
you avearaged 37k/hr for the first 107 k. Great pace!!! Best of luck from Earl and Tracy from Canaccord
Capital Halifax. I will be sending out my email to all 1400 Canaccord employees in Canada on Monday to challenge them to match the $100/person contribution from the Halifax Branch. Keep up the good work and ride safely.
