It's All A Bit Surreal
In the middle of my afternoon session I had one of those moments – what the heck am I doing here and how did I end up riding through some beautiful stretches highway in Portage La Prairie and Brandon Manitoba with I group of guys I have never met before and will probably never meet again.
The thought was actually triggered by one of the riders in my peloton.

Answer: I am an extremely fortunate person - I shared my secret with some like minded and generous people who with out hesitation want to help me deliver on my promise to Taylor. From day one these individuals have worked relentlessly in executing this mammoth project. I could never imagine that a promise that had such meaning me and my family would be so deeply understood by so many.
Today was heart warming to see so many families out along the way showing their support.
And the peloton support – Team H2V is extremely thankful to all the riders that have been out pulling for us. This afternoon my ride through Portage La Prairie and Brandon Manitoba was made a whole lot easier, thanks to the support of Bob, Dale and Greg. These guys took time out of their days to help make a difference for the lives of other.
Thanks guys.

Well we are officially at the half way mark – the body is certainly feeling the aches and pains. Neck, back and of course my butt. I have pain in places I didn’t know I have. Lots of Advil and stretching is keeping it all together but the final 45 min of each shift feels like 2 hours.
We will preserver – we will succeed and we will get home.

Help us finish the job and donate now at www.teamh2v.com. You are our biggest supporters and the children our biggest inspirations in high times and low.

It was a pleasure riding with Kyle and Willie through parts of Manitoba. To Willie; sorry we couldn't take you through the last 1/2 hour of your ride, hope it went well.
Your journey is amazing, we rode for 125km, but we get to sleep at home, eat and go about our regular day. You get a brief rest and do another 3 hour shift. Your accomplishments deserve the greatest recognition.
I thought about you guys when I got up today, but I also thought about why you are doing this ride. I would certainly take your spot and go through 9 days of physical and mental pain than testing my blood sample 5+ times EVERY day. Best wishes on your journey to end Juvenille Diabetes.

H2V crew - it certainly was a pleasure to meet all of you in Brandon. It was a humbling experience to be in the presence of such determined individuals. I listened to the interviews with the newspapers and could have listened to your stories all night long. I am so proud of the Brandon riders who stepped up to the plate and rode with you guys to give you that extra boost you needed on this stretch of highway - big kudos to them too!!
Taylor is a sweetheart - she's winning the hearts of Canadians as you travel across our vast country.
You are all inspirations and it seems after meeting you that saying thank you isn't enough - but thanks :) You gave all the kids with Type 1 who came out to see you some hope :)
Thinking about you all lots and can't wait to hear about your arrival back in Vancouver in a few days :) (you'll make it through those mountains - I know you will!)
I read this and thought of you:
You Can Fly If You Try
You can fly if you try!
You can soar with the eagle if you dare
Or you can run with the turkeys who don't care
You can watch life on the TV Tube
Or invent some great new Rubiks Cube
You can fly, if you try
Set your course and keep on trying
And you'll find that soon you're flying
Doesn't matter who you are
Spread your wings and be a star
You can fly, if you try!
Ride safe and keep your hands on the handlebars!
See you soon
