Where we are!!
Hello Folks in Blogville,
The GPS shows that Team H2V is east of Calgary. Part of our team (the Mechanics) are visiting a bike shop to deal with some mechanicals. RV1, Keith-Willie-Kyle-Bryan are resting in Canmore (at Mcdonalds, sorry Katie and Deanna) and RV2 with Matt and Richard are riding their butts off and are 30k outside (east of Canmore) and will be here shortly.
And thanks again to all those who are putting comments on our blog, we are reading them and can not share with you how much the support means to us, especially as we are heading into the Rockies.
See you all soon,
RV1

I'm putting on my uncle hat, boys. You've been hammering down on the pedals with inadequate sleep, living in cramped and bouncy spaces for almost a week. You must be some squirrelly by now. But the goal is in sight and you can do it. Just stick to your excellent game plan. So....no competing for 100kph + speeds on the mountain downhills. Save that for another day when your inner squirrel has mellowed. If I hear that you have broken some kind of top speed record when I see you in Vancouver, I'll take away your bikes for a week!

Hang in there you guys! Almost home...the best is yet to come.
At least you are going to be hitting some of the most spectacular scenery..."so you got that going for you...which is nice"...a little quote for you from Cattyshack.
We are not worthy...we are not worthy...
You guys don't just ROCK...you RAAAAK!!

O RICHARD YOU'RE SO FINE, YOU'RE SO FINE YOU BLOW MY MIND...!!! Thats my response to the "STUD" comments...its oh so true...but you're also so much more than that.
It's hard to put into words how I felt seeing you all this morning. What I KNOW is that the excitement and smiles on all those kids faces who watched you ride in and on spoke a thousand words. That moment spoke loud and clear!
Thanks for stopping by!
Lots of Love Cous!!!

And Lyse, I must thank you too for calling after you sent Richard the the guys off in Halifax. That meant so much to me....but I didn't know how to comment way back on Friday....and this is what day? I'm not even sure anymore.
Thanks Farrell.

hey keith and boys, so nice to read all the sentiments being shared on the blog, who would of thought living out a dream like riding across this beautiful country could have turned into such an amazing outpour of emotion, good cheer and donations in support of this wonderful cause
i echo uncle's comments about the downhill, i certainly will take away all 8 of your bikes if i hear that you are setting any kind of downhill records, just sit tight and enjoy the view and kallym and i will be there to ride you in come Vancouver
lotsa love and laughter,
Laura
Great comment Farrell. The father hat says the same thing! Mind you, if you are like Farrell and I you'll probably do it anyway and not tell us.
Be careful...we want you all back.
Keith:
It was great riding with you for a very small bit of your great trip this morning. I feel very lucky to been able to participate in the H2V project in a very small way. Hopefully your legs warmed up and there wasn't too much of a head wind for the balance of your ride to Cochrane (or so). There was a nasty west wind in Calgary at noon, and it would have been worse whistling down the Bow Valley and across the Morely Flats.
It was also great being able to ride with all 5 of you for your first time as a group since Halifax. I know your ride in from Hope to Vancouver on Saturday will be tremendous. You'll have at least two strong teams pulling you along for the last long leg and you shouldn't notice the head wind.
Best of luck. Oh yeah, I think I might have left a set of clear MEC chameleon glasses in one of the RV's. If someone finds them, they are welcome to use them (they are great at night and in the rain). But, I'd like them back, because they have been discontinued and I find them great, especially for early morning and winter commuting.
Best wishes to all of you for the rest of your journey.
John
